- Product Information
Esculin is an anti-inflammatory agent used in experimental models. It known as a natural product extracted from Aesculus hippocastanum plant.
Antioxidant properties of esculin is due to its ability of reducing oxidative stress caused by free radicals.
Human and animal renin activity is inhibited by esculin, that suppressing kidney fibrosis. It is proven that, in model systems of chronic kidney disease, esculin can preventing progression of renal disease better than indomethacin.
It is useful to note that esculin as a coumarin derivative used as a chromatographic stationary phase in separation and identification of chemical compounds.
