- Description
- Product Information
A strong lincosamide antibiotic used in microbiology, clindamycin hydrochloride powder works well against a range of bacterial strains.
It inhibits protein synthesis at the 50S ribosome level, which stops the growth of bacteria. Clindamycin is very effective against Gram-positive and anaerobic bacteria because of its focused action. Since more broad-spectrum antibiotics are now available, clindamycin is not regarded as a first-line option, even if some Gram-negative bacteria are sensitive.
