- Description
- Product Information
Instead of being a generic antibiotic (which can target other germs like fungi), nalidixic acid powder is a strong antibacterial agent.
Its selective activity makes it useful in microbiology. It works well against gram-negative bacteria but isn’t as broad-spectrum as certain antibiotics. Because of its selectivity, it can be used to create culture conditions that suppress the growth of unwanted gram-positive bacteria while promoting the growth of desired gram-negative strains for more research.
